My brother lives in Owen county I was asking him about it the other day. Said as far as he knew they only had tractor pulls and ran derby cars

I think they stopped working on it soon after they started it.

This reminds me of the new Edgewater Park speedway set to open this year near Cincinnati. Any news on that endeavor?

The last pics on google maps show December of 2017 and it looks like they were building one but their website shows only drag racing nothing about the dirt track https://www.facebook.com/Dirt-Track-...4076349746821/

Thanks. I know that the spring wasn't kind to them as I saw pictures of the speedway underwater. I just hadn't heard anything since and wondered if they ever got started on the new dirt track or have put it on the back burner.

I have no idea what track you are talking about, but the one in Corbin was set to have opening night on Saturday.

So the Ohio River can flood the track?

The Edgewater track is located in Cleves, Ohio. Track is north of Cincinnati, Ohio near the Indiana state line.

Because they originally planned on being done building in April or May but flooding has pushed the build back to June and now to August. Google Edgewater Drag Strip. The track is near a river. The dirt track is being build on the same piece of land as the drag strip.

The original post I seen back in February said the track might be close the size of Eldora.
Tracks Facebook page has some pictures of the build.

I'd think any track that is opening instead of closing these days is a good thing.

Apparently. I've never been there but I was kind of anxious to see a new dirt track on the horizon. Unfortunately spring weather delayed the construction and from the pictures I saw it certainly seemed to be just a difficult task to even get started. With the property underwater, not much construction could be started until the drying process happened.

I still think that August could be a push as well. They have to construct buildings, restrooms, concession stands, grandstands and also a wall with fencing for the track. Lights need to be installed and a pit area established. Quite an undertaking for anyone.
