IRacing?

Ok, I finally bit the bullet, and have IRacing. Since I was a rookie, I’ve been doing the stocks series. Went from 2.50 to 2.92 in 2 races. Third race I think it was, some not very good drivers. Started second, was in lead, slowed up for a spinner, second place slid me, no biggie. But third, who wasn’t very good, and I gave the whole outside of the track, took him twice of hitting me in the RR to turn me. I come back through, pass him, and end up 3rd. Painfully, was the fastest. My rating went to a 2.48. I’ll own up to hitting someone, but wasn’t the case at all. So does it not matter who initiated the contact? Do they deduct points from both people no matter what?

Yes Iracing is a no fault system both drivers get incident points regardless of who is at fault. Your going to get the worst drivers in rookie , just ride around in the back and don't worry about racing until you get your SR up to a 3.0 . Once you get to D class you have a choice of street stocks, legends, 305 sprint cars , and limited late models . The drivers are going to be better but not great and you can focus on racing and maintaining your SR. Rookie is a jungle to be survived , once you get out you never have to go back.

Another thing to keep in mind there SR is a incidents per corner system try and finish the race and make as many clean laps as you can to keep from seeing such a big drop in your SR

Gotcha. Thanks man. These were probably the same lap, or 3n4, then 1n2. I knew they were pretty bad by lap times, but really sucks they take off of both people. I’d never been in second had I not checked up for the spinner, oh well. Thanks again.

What kinda wheel you run?

I’ve got the G29. Left sensitivity at default, just changed rotation to around 300. Brake pedal 2.40-2.50. Feedback around a 2.

Anywhere you can find actual set ups?

Tried Williams Grove in a Super, by the end of the straight, I can’t keep the sob straight. And that bump at the crossing on the backstretch.

It won't let me quote for some reason again . But no worries the way they look at it in rookie is SR is the most important. If you can demonstrate you can drive safely in the car they will promote you to the next level. When you advance a liscense class your SR will drop again and you will have to build it back up again to show you can be safe in the new car class/classes . Don't forget you can use time trials to build up your SR as well its just a slower process. IF you have anymore questions let me know .

For setups prebuilt Iracing Setup Sync. Google it is about the easiest way but beware alot of it is outdated . My advice is to learn how to build your own to keep up with changing track conditions . Bookmark this its a lifesaver.

Maybe that’s why my rating dropped. I just got promoted to a D.

Williams Grove is the worst dirt track on the game and by far the hardest to get fast at. Get used to setting the car up to how you like it to drive. I start with the default set, run 2-3 laps then go into garage and make changes. Run 2-3 more then go back and make more. If you put your mouse over the changes you can make it will give a brief description of what it will do to the car. Everyone has a different driving style that's why I've never downloaded anything from OSR. Some people drive the cars very tight, others very loose. Just gotta find what works for you!

You can build your safety rating back up by doing time trials. It is a little at a time. I use those for practice sessions and it recovers rating some after being victim of some bad driving by others.

Anyone up for a practice session here in a little bit? I know some of you all might be busy with real racing obligations but if your like me and can’t get to a track this weekend this is the next best thing. I’ll put a session up in about an hour for 4m members only if a couple of y’all want to play around
