He said on Facebook something to the effect of he has to run that many because he has to pay UMP $30,000 to put the race on. I understand what he's saying, but that's going to be a 2 AM night.

That's understandable, but how do promoters justify not running the Late Models first and holding people hostage, especially on a weeknight? Wait until Farmer City's race on Friday, they'll have 6 divisions and run the Late Models last after 1000 laps have been put on the track and the race will suck.

Carpenter ruined what was shaping up to be an incredible race, then he dangerously shot out onto the track during the restart to try to take out the leaders again. WTF? That's a pretty crappy way to get video time to advertise for your chassis company.
