Hoping to get some help on a couple questions, please. ...... 1. Where can we pitch a tent? 2. Do we park the car next to the tent? 3. If you can't park next to the tent where do you park? ...... Thanks much for any help.

Thank you, 44. If anyone can add to this I would appreciate that. I do know for the Summer Nats we got there an hour early and the school lot was full and they sent us down to the field a couple blocks down to park ( same side of the street where I assume you are talking about for tents).

There are two tent areas. One way in the back of the backstretch parking. Far SE corner near golf course. It is a small area. The better option is on the ball diamond directly across from the 1st street gate. You cannot park near either location but you can get close to the ball diamond if you get there early enough. There is usually parking outside the outfield fence between there and the grain bins to the south.

Thank you, sir. The ball diamond is on school grounds and the grain bins/silos are directly south of that? ...... Also coming without a ticket. 1. Gates open at noon Friday? 2. They sell tickets at two locations, on 1st and 3rd streets? 3. If so is one location better than the other since there will be a mad rush to general admission in the grandstand? 4. Do folks with reserved seats have their own entrance in case I score some tickets outside the track?

Clayton Wetter, I used to be a regular at 4m, Kankakee and LaSalle 15-18 yrs ago and talked a little gambling, along with racing with you. Came to 4m a month ago and it didn't remember me so I had to re-register. Used to be Mr Ricochet now I'm Mister Ricochet. Great to see you still kicking around.......... Used to be a dude named Bob that posted a lot and drove down to Belle Clair for his weekly racing IIRC. Really sharp guy. Is he still around?

If your tent camping its best to use the first street enterance as its just right their. Make sure you get the 2 day pass it saves you $5 so it be $45 instead of $50. With tent camping on baseball fields no bonfires and pretty sure no grills unless their on the parking lot. All of backstretch is reserved so no reason to even try to get a seat back their unless you get lucky to get reserved, same with the metal bleachers in front stretch. Gates open at 10am on first street and you must stand inline to get a seat in general admission section, which line starts right when gates open so you will stand inline for 2 hours to just get a seat as that fills up fairly quickly to. So make sure to bring a blanket to put down and make sure your in your seat by 6pm or they will pull your blanket up and assume nobody is their. And you will have to do the same thing for saturday to. As your blanket can not be left over night you have to take your blanket friday night after races are over. NO STADIUM SEATS.

That is correct, the ball diamond is across the street on school property. If you look at Google maps you will see the ball diamond directly outside the 1st street gate, a little green space and grain bins just to the south. There will be campers in that area as well so it might depend on how many of those related to parking availability. Your best best would be to grab one of the reserved seats up for grabs here on the forum and enter on 1st street. The general admission can be a giant pain to deal with. I wouldn’t enter on 3rd street unless you are doing a pit pass. 1st street gate is easier for back stretch and 2nd street for front stretch. There is no specific gate for reserved seats. Don’t sweat it too much. Throw your tent down on the ball diamond, head in 1st street gate and take in the atmosphere on the backstretch side. It cant be beat and the weather looks to be great.

Along the streets (Up & Down 1st street, at the school in several spots, and around the area).

FALS is pretty good about directing traffic into the numerous lots for parking. You'll see plenty of staff directing where to go. No need to worry.
