Davenport Speedway Weekly Racing

I heard from someone at Davenport Speedway tonight that weekly racing will be done after this season. Anyone know any truth to this?! Heard there will only be motorcycle racing on the 1/4 mile and Specials on the 1/2 mile.

Would not surprise me at all - specials only sounds like a good plan. Davenport's weekly shows are dying fast - pains me to say that since I love the place.

Saw a tweet tonight stating this:
Attention all IMCA Late Model Drivers!

We need car counts in this division to considerably increase. Unfortunately, if we do not see a significant increase in order to give the fans a good race Friday, the IMCA Late Model season championship will be held on 7/20.

Must be some truth to what I was told. Hopefully this isn’t the end.

Hope they get things turned around, haven't been to Davenport in probably 15 years but grew up going there often. As kids we would sneak over and watch the movies after the races, cool place. I think I have a few old videos of the first races on the quarter mile, will see what I can find and post if they are decent.
