Honestly, to me it's one of the best shows around especially the double heats the first night. Only bad part is the heat and lack of shade.

Scott you hit it on the head! In my opinion, at least with the age of my kids (5 and 6) I can't justify taking them to a lot of races any more. It seems like nothing starts before 7pm and they all run past 10, many past 12 pm and that's just too late.
I do involve them and they stay up until they are tired when I get a ppv, but they don't go to the track too often.

Leaving on Wednesday morning to make the haul from AZ again, don't plan on missing this show any time in the near future.... Great group of people there and the racing is fantastic!!!! The heat can be a little tough to bear, but the forecast for this year is looking MUCH better than last year or even the year before. High 80's/Low 90's will be a real break from the Arizona heat!!!!! Safe travels everyone!

Taking kids to races is usually not good for them or the grownups. Unless they really are interested in the racing. Don't count on making race fans out of your children.

Been going since I was in diapers and ive been taking my daughter since she was in diapers. She loves going to the "twack". Took her in the pits at Mansfield and she loved seeing the cars, but thought the haulers were something out of this world. Sure kids can be a pain if you exoect them to sit in the stands the whole time and I understand not everyone can afford pit passes, but take any kid into tge pits and let them meet a driver and sit in a car and they'll be hooked for life

This track and race doesn't get the credit it deserves. I've camped on the backstretch and watched them prep the track and to me it seems like they dump a crap load of water on it and run it in. Clearly there's more to it than that, but whatever Joe does makes some of the best race surface i have seen. Plus the format is just outstanding, it makes the guys race. I had to pick a new track (dirt million) or this race for this year and i picked the dirt million. From what i have seen of mansfield so far i will be kicking myself for missing the SDN.

Camping is ok... plenty of room, no shade and no showers. I usually head over to the truck stop (very close to track) and use the showers over there.Originally posted by zooker25 View PostHow is the camping and do they have showers? Our group of SDN newbies are camping at the Pine Grove RV Park south of the track. Not sure if they have any sites left or not tho, we got ours 4-5 months ago.Originally posted by zooker25 View PostHow is the camping and do they have showers?
