AJ is running a limited schedule compared to last year when his schedule was limited. Plus, he’s filling in for Kaanta and will be running John’s car at Cedar Lake for the NASCAR stuff and his own for the Open Show. He will be at Shawano tonight...but I kinda suspected Shawano and Cedar Lake would be the only two open shows he’d run this week. An appearance at Plymouth would’ve surprised me a bit.
The qualifying stuff is where locals who don’t do it weekly are going to already be behind. Nick has told me time and time again that he is “right there†in terms of equipment with the touring guys but qualifying is something he doesn’t normally do and its 30 shows a season vs. 100 or more. The very top guys locally (Nick, AJ, Mitch, plus a few others) could hold their own on a national tour but less seat time and inexperience qualifying already puts them at a disadvantage.
