I have noticed that folks seem to assume the banners are free to take and the track and series in no way wants to keep them.. as last year say 2 or 3 guys going and snipping banners down.. that in no way you'd think was associated with the track/series."The Wise One"

What i found cool was asking racing parts suppliers for banners prior to an event...pretty easy. Holley sent me a dozen big banners... also got Comp, Isky, JE and several more. Even Ford sent a few...Member of the Luxemburg Speedway Hall of Fame

That is a cool banner.. I would display that in my garage but hopefully Fairbury gets it back but I feel like it's long gone by now

Not the particular banner in question, but I've been told that the companies that have those banners hanging at a track put them there knowing that race fans will remove them and take them home. Advertisement-advertisement-advertisement! They would just as soon see them hanging in someones shop or man cave as to see them discarded after a race.
I've also seen guys out removing them during the main event before. Like they were on a quest for racing souvenirs and could care less that they were missing the main attraction that they paid to see. Seemed kind of strange.8/13/16

I have a 6' big Johnson racing banner that we got at Pennsboro in the mid 90's. Dad takes it to big races a d we let anyone that wants to sign it have at it. Pretty cool to look back at all the places its been. But, stealing is stealing and honestly, who needs a 100' banner other than a racetrack?
