He was blowing water out the overflow hose at lap 1. I would be willing to bet he blew a head gasket. He ran it hard for 3 laps or so, then it started loosing power (smoking too) and Bronson got around him. He was still racing pretty hard and it went down hill quick from there and he pulled in on a caution for another car. Probably on lap 5 or 6 maybe.

When low or out of water the gauge won't read correctly. It's steam temp and will jump hot all at once

The water pump and fan belt had fallen off while he was in staging. Supposedly a mod driver had told Cody and about it, and he shook his head and waved them off. They could see the fan wasn't turning. It blew more than a head gasket.

Wow! Do you remember the outrage when this happened to another driver a few weeks ago? The whole team, driver and owner was said to have no business racing if they couldn't maintenance the car!!
