Earl had clay, and owned Eldora. Cody is leasing Mansfield and used dirt available at the track. Earl had 50+ years to get his stuff right. Cody has been at it for 5-8 years. I really see Cody making a huge impact on dirt late model racing. A comparison to Earl ain’t a bad one if he sticks with it. Earl wasn’t perfect either.

Cody has all the right people supporting his, somewhat ill-prepared endeavors, that definitely helps. No way he becomes some kind of Baltes comparison. Even if he rises to that level, this sport won't be there for him.

While I agree if you mean the cars just aren’t there anymore, I applaud the guy for trying new things and setting the bar for himself high. The feature last night was good.
