Bloomquist Picks Moran

Scott was on Late Model Live last night and Rigsby asked him, if you had to pick one driver that could be the next Scott Bloomquist, who would it be. He picked Devin Moran. I thought that was a very interesting choice. He said Moran races people clean and earns respect. He said he has poise and patience, drives hard and drives smart.

For those that have a DoD subscription, you should check it out. It's a pretty good interview. Say what you will about Scott, but he's always got interesting insight.

They also had Ronnie Stuckey on the show. That was also a good interview.

Devin is a great choice. Great future ahead of him. Bloomer said same thing about Babb about 5 years ago.

Devin is a carbon copy of his dad -- who was my favorite driver back in the 80s and 90s, when I first started traveling to big late model shows. It's pretty cool that one of the greats of the sport thinks this highly of Donnie's son. The Morans are good people, and they deserve any praise and respect they receive.

As for heroes, I save that label for men like my brother Steve. He's 50 years old, been a Marine since he was 18, and is currently serving his 14th tour of duty in Afghanistan. That's what a hero is.
