I respect Gary a lot, grew up watching him but these types of things have really taken over and have gone too far I think. I have insurance on my property, life, etc. for me and my family and expect all others to do the same. There are people out there that can't say the same and need a hand, I have no problem helping the less fortunate out and do on a regular basis, but I don't think its necessary to throw cash at a situation that won't be fixed or even impacted by it such as this tragedy.

Some here will think I am heartless or an A-hole, but that's on them and they are entitled to their take on it just as I am.

I can respect that POV. Emotionally I understand the gut reaction to help out, but you made good points too and I agree with you. If we find out that things had gone really bad for him and insurance and what not was not on the table I have no problem helping out. I think his neighbors, friends and relatives should probably step up and help him with meals and clothes in the short run just because I'm sure grief is all thats on his mind right now. God speed Gary Webb.

I have known Gary since the 60s. As far as I know he helps anyone with their car, who asked. It would be deserved.

Anyone that has had a fire or loss that you had insured, knows the insurance companies never come close to replacing everything. I'm sure he wouldn't ask for anything but that don't mean we can't be big hearted for one of the good guys. They depreciate everything to the point, you wonder why you bought the insurance.

"Be big hearted for one of the good guys." I couldn't agree more.
