I think we need a "senior tour"....

Think about it.... put retired "star" drivers in local cars as a support class for WoO or Lucas.

    25 lap features.

WoO/Lucas/UDTRA/NDRA et. guys who have been retired at least 5 years.

I think it would help pack the stands ....

It's a great idea. New and original ideas like this are exactly what promoters and sanctioning bodies need to coming up with.

Put them in some locals cars... lates, crates, mods, stock cars. Our drivers always were willing to rent a car for some cash.

A few years ago i went to a wdlma event at Luxemburg, WI. The weekly show there does not include lates... this was the travelling series that pre dates the Dirt Kings deal here in WI.

Anywho I was surprised to see many older fans in the stands many who sported Tee's and jackets with the names of late model race teams from days gone by... Pete Parker, NDRA, DePere Speedway... stuff like that. Late models were the reason they were there.

Shawano and Plymouth are the only tracks in the area that run late models on a weekly basis.

I would love to see a monthly deal where Seymour, Shawano and Luxemburg run three consecutive nights with late models. (Seymour has switched to Fridays from their usual Sunday night affair while Shawano sticks to Saturdays. Luxemburg has run Friday's for the last 30 plus years and is looking for a new promoter for the future... a switch to Sunday's may happen).

I think, with some promotion, a "series" like this would make some sense.

One problem I see is the Dirt Kings deal drawing cars from the weekend shows during the summer. One answer to might be to take a page from John McKarns old ARTGO pavement series where he ran a bunch of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night specials where the weekly guys didn't have to choose between the specials and their weekly show.

Just some food for thought here fellas.

When I was at Capital Super Speedway we owned two Pinto mini-stocks. The late model feature winner from the previous week was required to jump into one of those Pintos and run the mini feature... only one driver, Tom Reffner, refused.

Surprisingly most LM guys had a blast....
