Money. That’s why. But I agree that these Mod guys are some very good wheelmen. Marlar and Jimmy Owens are certainly good examples. Cade Dillard has been running pretty well when he hops in a Late.

Wow ! Johnny Scott wins another race . What an incredible season he has had . Hard to believe he would sit out 2019 and crew chief for his brothers SLM team. The Vanderbuilt race car appears to work better for Johnny Scott then the others, including Bloomquist.

Johnny Scott has had a banner year in money won for this level of racing, yet not good enough to make him return from what is being reported. Interesting.

They do have a bigger modified race there now. Not this big, but they have one. I know Terry Phillips has won it.
Up in the air who my next “favorite” driver is. Really losing hope on Bloomer getting anywhere back to “normal”.

It's the IMCA Duel in the Desert. They get about 275 mods from all over the country for a measly $7,777.

Duel in the Desert, like the Boone Supernationals, is not about the money but the prestige, notoriety, and chance to represent your product to racers and car owners. Jason Hughes is going this year. Wasn’t too long ago that he was a kingpin in the USMTS and USRA car builder ranks. He follows some others, Shryock for one, that may have found the expense of fielding a competitive open car is not yielding a practical return on their money. Look at the number of drivers at Vegas that represent a chassis or race parts manufacturer, there’s your answer.

I have nothing to add to this discussion, but I thought this video was really cool. The new drone technology is amazing. The fact that it can follow his car like that is amazing.

Yeah I couldn’t think of the name. Then you put it and I went duh, that’s what it was called.
