How is waycross or southern raceway in milton,FL??

Are you asking why waycross or southern raceway in Milton, FL don't have a Feb date???

Never been to Waycross so I can't comment, but I have been to Southern raceway a handful of times....
No way in hell that place ever gets a Lucas date.

1) The fencing/concrete blocks in the corners are a nightmare.
It's not safe for the 305 Cajun Sprints that run there. You put 24 "open" cars on that track and you will have cars off the track and in the ditches that surround that joint. Last two times I was there, they had to cut drivers out of 4-bangers. No way a national series ask their drivers to race $100k+ machines at the joint.
2) In comparison to the "usual" suspects on the Lucas schedule, the track doesn't measure up on multiple levels...especially lighting. Only place worse is Flomaton.
3) The panhandle is a hike from anywhere else Lucas would consider racing and there is "zero" open DLM presence in the area.

That joint over in Loxley, AL would be a better option, but nobody can keep the place open.

Im guessing Lawrenceburg doesn't want a date. Your're right though its a 1st class facility, heck of a sprint car track.

My guess would be that they do want a date but since the Dirt Million took their previous date away they won't take just any date. They ran the Whiskey City 50 on the weekend that the Smackdown sprint car event was held at Kokomo Speedway. Most Indiana sprint car tracks tried to not schedule sprints on that weekend and Lawrenceburg scheduled the LOLM Series.

I know that in the past that Lawrenceburg has raced mostly on Saturday nights with an occasional "off" night for a special event. Apparently they either didn't like the dates being offered or just decided to skip a year or two and try again later on.

Looking forward to the series visiting the Kokomo Speedway next season.

L'burg is one of my favorite tracks in the area. It always seemed like That race always struggled to bring in cars. I dont think the drivers were a big fan of it because it never really smoothed off and got slick after the reconfigured it the 3rd time. That place was hell on drive train components. It was most generally a really good race because of how the track got. It never really got what ya would say rough, it just got wavy. I dont know it was from water runoff or what. I dont see many race tracks get like that very often. It done it every time there when the late models were there. The Downey race got 8 cars this year. I dont look for them to even have a late model race on the schedule this year.

I like to think them taking out the indoor karting track across the street being closed down is the cause of it 😎

Can someone explain how in the heck a place like Ponderosa gets a Lucas race and a first class facility like Lawrenceburg doesn't? I know the 'Burg track can be rough at times, but it can't be THAT MUCH WORSE than the Junction City track, and obviously the facilities aren't even close.

WoO already cancelled The Pond after only two years, they jerked the rug out from under Lucas in 2017 with a last minute cancellation, and somehow they stay on the schedule. I only live 45 minutes from J.C., and there's been persistent rumors for the last 2-3 years that the track is closing, so I was shocked to see them back on the Lucas schedule for '18.

Oh well, can't say they weren't warned.

The Burg has a much higher profit requirement than the Pond. I've never seen a really good Lucas event at the Burg.

To see Ponderosa close would be a sad day. I always liked going there, until the lack of track prep ended our visits.

I always went on a night when the track was too dry and one lane. Maybe just unlucky??? As far as being wavy, they could fix that.

I have a question. When did they do this third reconfigurement? I've not been there since the Lucas 2016 event.

After they reconfigured it in 2008 or whatever it was, it was claimed they had moved dirt in and raised the infield up, and took out some bankinhg after. A good friend of mine held the track record there in a winged sprint not long after they done the first reconfiguring. He was told a couple years later his track record no longer existed, do to the reconfiguration of the track. I'm wanting to say it was 2010 or 2011.

I forget the name of it, it was a rental deal pretty much right straight out from the back stretch of the car track. It belongs to a trucking company now.

It was a cool go cart track. You could take a group of ppl and run a series. We raced there every Tuesday night one winter. They kept points and give out awards at the end of it.

Excited to see one of my home tracks on there April 6, North Georgia Speedway!!! Hope its a huge success, the place needs it!

Well, it CAN be one of the raciest joints in the country. I think the crew running things is finally getting a better handle on the track prep now. The last big race there, there were cars running 3-4 different grooves, and was the best I have seen in a while. I'm hoping with the new GM, things will be great in 2019!

As far as reserved seats, I don't think that will be an option, however I 10/10 recommend sitting in the bleachers on the BACKstretch, the ones on the front are nice, but a long way from the track and you cant see as good.

I've seen several good Lucas races at Lawrenceburg . Burkhoffer last lap pass coming out of 2 comes to mind as well as a few others. When they get the track right and the cars can run up to the wall it makes for great racing.
