This event is a must see for anyone who loves dirt late model racing, but especially those of us who grew up watching racrd at Peoria Speedway, Kankakee, Farmer City and Fairbury. There is memorabilia of all kinds and descriptions.

        Racenut,

Just wanted to say thanks to you for posting this information about Joe's Garage Fall Open House. Had you not posted this, myself and probably others would have never known about it. I had heard about Joe's but never knew exactly where it was. WOW...visiting Joe's is like going back in time. All the old central IL dirt track history was amazing to check out. As you and CIRF said, there were tons of photos, trophy's, records, statistics, scrapbooks, old newspaper racing columns, and memorabilia to look at. I drove over from Indianapolis and it was well worth the trip. I hope others will take the time to stop in and visit Joe's unique museum. Thanks again....

Thanks Dirt Clod..... I don't even get on 4M very often, but Joe's garage is a real gem. Nice museum quality stuff, and every visit, there is always something new. I enjoy visiting with drivers mostly about the old days. This time, and not meaning to leave anyone out, but visited with Troy Fulks, Roger Drake, Sam Lee, Scott Shults, Roger Long, Marty Hiser, Terry Renfrow, Butch Garner, of course the hosts, Douglas Morris and Johanna Morris, along with Facebook Famous Al Lewis, Terry Young and Troy Hogan, lots of stories by Greg Riblet and others ..... great time, laid back no pressure, they even had a new tribute Jack Tyne Corvette, which I understand will be spending the winter.
I was the same five years ago, had heard about it, but did not even know where it was. Normally about Mother's Day weekend they have another open house, along with hosting the Old Car show right at the back door, about a half mile of cars lined up on old Route 66..... keep that in mind for next May, really a blow out event!
