    Driver of the Year

With the racing season about over who do you think had the best year in 2018?

DoD has Sheppard receiving 9 first place votes to JDs 1 vote. I know they go by what you’ve done lately but I would put JD on top since he won Lucas points and the Silver Dollar. Sheppard won a lot of races but didn’t win WoO points so I’d put JD #1. Hopefully this doesn’t turn into a ton of bashing drivers but interested in who everyone thinks had the best year in 2018.

Dirt on diets top 25 are power rankings. But for a driver who was good all year long I’d say Sheppard or marler

Woo - I would say marlar

Lucas oil - I dont think there was 1 driver that stood out. Yea jd won title but ran sub par. I think the top 3-4 had ups and downs.

Lol It has to be between Marler and JD, with the edge going to JD..how could you give Driver of the Year to a person who ultimately failed the goal you set out for at the beginning of the year?...

Sheppard won a pile more national touring races than anybody else. It’s hard to argue against that.

I'm guessing probably Bshepp. Didn't he have 3rd most wins on the Lucas tour without even running the series full time.

JD's last win was a Mansfield preliminary race in August.

Marlar won the WoO title but what else did he win?

The driver that wins the World 100 should be the driver of the year so I'll go with Tim McCreadie

marlar and Sheppard we’re both consistent all year round from Arizona til charlotte. With Sheppard being on top because he won more races. Not like anybody won a ton of big races

13 wins, 8 -2nd place finishes, and 7-3rd place finishes is pretty solid. On the podium just under 30 out of 70 races. I'd say JD Driver of the year, Marlar 2nd, B-Shep 3rd.

I agree. It really depends on how you want to define Driver of the Year, but Weiss won a ton of races, a Crown Jewel and exceeded expectations by quite a bit. I'd probably give him Breakout Driver of the Year though.

Normally my choice goes to the guy that wins the Lucas tour because it's the toughest, but JD didn't stand out head and shoulders above the rest. And like JD, Marlar won the WoO title, but didn't really stand out either. Sheppy won a lot of races, but not a ridiculous amount. Bloomer won the Dream. T-Mac the World. Very, very hard choice.

Push comes to shove, I'll stick with my default and give it to JD.
