I don't get the Ricky Weiss deal. Great kid, very humble and a good racer but he basicly runs Wissota. I know he won the N/S and ran well at Eldora but the rest of his results hardly warrants top ten material.
Yeah, I know he's a fan favorite so feel free to let me have itJust my opinion.

Weiss did have a lot of regional wins this year. Actually he pretty much cleaned up but if you ask me those wins - when comparing them to WoO and Lucas drivers - don’t mean squat. To me it’s about how you do when going up against the best competition in the country. When you run a Lucas show you have to be beyond on your A game to win a feature. Pretty much the same with the WoO.

After looking at his results from 2018 on his website (which I’ll admit I didn’t do until now) I actually think he had a better year than I thought...

Two 1st Place wins at Wild West Shootout
2nd at the Silver Dollar
Eldora 1 - 8th
Eldora 2 - 5th
Dream - 12th
Multiple WoO and Lucas Oil top 10 finishes in July
North/South Champion
2nd in Dirt Million prelim
4th in Dirt Million main event

I wish he wouldn’t have just run a regional schedule after August but I’d say those results above would be pretty good for a top 10 even if that’s all the races you ran all year.

Weiss actually won a 50k crown jewel... this year ... This is the board the anoints people the next Bloomquist because they run top 10 in a crown heel ... Weiss has been blazing fast the entire year there is no reason he shouldn’t be top 10

I can't speak for anyone else, but I rated Weiss and Hudson O'Neal both on the eye test. You're absolutely 100% correct Weiss ran a very limited open schedule, but he turned heads against the very best at Cedar Lake, Eldora, N/S etc.

Hudson O'Neal...flat out a top 15 caliber driver imho...who just happened to miss a large portion of the season with injury. Believe the same with Weiss...just limited opportunities to show it.

As far as letting you have it??? I think you asked a fair and honest question.

On a different note, what does our boy Feger need to do to get it rollin' again? Something just seemed off on his car all season long.

Hudson, Pierce, Weiss, T.Erb, Shirley, all guys that are great racers, had great years, but just not top 10 but close.

I think Devin Moran or Don Oneal, who I left off the list, would have as good if not better results if they had run a R.W. type schedule.

As far as Jason, now that he's a happily married man, maybe he'll come out in 2019 and be back to where he once was.

I think eventually, Hudson ONeal will be the next real deal. The kid is that good.
