I heard that earlier in the summer but I don't know if there is any truth to it or not.

If that’s true is pretty safe to assume that they don’t feel that the risk and effort put forth is worth it for the minimal return they might have made .... Racing is not a money making venture except for people selling racing gear lol

I heard that there is a good possibility that it may be converted into a tract of land for a truck driving company - very similar to what happened to Atomic Speedway along Interstate 40 West several years ago. Time will tell, I guess.

Mitch McCarter is a businessman.....With that said, the cost to drill through and move all that slate at the gap will make it a financial nightmare for anyone who wants to do anything other than run a race track.

If it’s slate and shale, if someone wants it enough, they’ll drill down and blast it. Though yes, definitely not pristine building ground.
