I Remember when Marlar and Doar back in 2011 at the black diamond 125 put on one of the best races I have ever seen. Marlar didn’t win it but he can wheel it at Tyler county for sureOriginally posted by Pennsboro23 View PostIt's funny because Marlar has ran first and second the past two times he's been to Tyler County in bigger races but rarely comes up to race here...wish he would more often.

Once again, that was cheap too. It actually made putting the correct shocks on the lr easier. And a Penske costs the same regardless of how you valve it.Originally posted by jcotton02 View PostEverybody wants to say how cheap that device was and maybe the design itself was. now factor in the cost of the shocks that it took to use it!Last edited by RaceEngineer; 11-23-2018, 05:05 AM.

I doubt that the $10k guys are spending today for a set of shocks is any cheaper... for many i would think they spend as much, or more, on shocks during a season as they do on engines.Originally posted by jcotton02 View PostEverybody wants to say how cheap that device was and maybe the design itself was. now factor in the cost of the shocks that it took to use it!
I shake my head when I see the "economy" shocks are only $3995.00 a set...Member of the Luxemburg Speedway Hall of Fame

The LR is a sandwich of crutches. So, the shocks are extreme to try and cope. Rumley recognized this and came up with a clever way to fix it.Originally posted by Krooser View PostI doubt that the $10k guys are spending today for a set of shocks is any cheaper... for many i would think they spend as much, or more, on shocks during a season as they do on engines.

16k to freshen a Spread bore after 900 laps .. if it doesn’t need a crank or rods .... add fuel and oil to that and tell me with a straight face shocks cost as much as motors .... if you check deck height after the race you can’t pin the right front to the ground or hold the left rear up as you will fail tech .... But by all means let’s pretend it’s stupid to check Decks the way they did for 20 years ....

So we want the officials to revert back to the way they used to do it???
Like they did with tires before the imposed testing farce began???
Like it.Where is the move over flag when you need it?????

Yup. A lot of fixes are simple. Go back to what worked. The history of DLM is littered with rules and rule enforcement changes to let rule breakers be legal again. We change the ruler instead of the offending car. It's insane. Then we create new rules to make what was always legal, illegal. Again, insane.Originally posted by Barbecueboy View PostSo we want the officials to revert back to the way they used to do it??? Exactly!! We have had several rear suspension designs over the years and there was no issue until a guy named Rumley found something that was better than the norm. Meanwhile engine costs have almost tripled over the last 10 years and nothing is done about it, simply because of the money the builders give to the sanctioning bodies in the form of advertising, etc.Originally posted by RaceEngineer View PostYup.
