The time that the dirt is down would not effect an XFL team starting to play in early February.

Yes. It's not going to overlap NFL. I believe it's suppose to begin shortly after the Super Bowl.

If it actually took them longer than 3 months to clean the dome like you claim I doubt it would be worth the effort to have the show.

Ah, I assumed it would run along the same schedule as NFL. Carry on..

I assumed football season would be in the fall/early winter without reading the article. Thanks though!

4 weeks to clean that dirt up haha. Max two week for really really slow dirt operators. Max 2 or 3 days take concrete blocks out and catch fence. Get real heavy equipment dirt operators one week max.

CnB how long it take you and with 2-3 other good operators on a couple 972 with 12 yard buckets while running 10-14 dump trucks? And 2 skidsteers and street sweeper for fine clean up lol

I could be wrong but I think they had the track tore down in just a few days after the event. I forgot where but I remember reading something like that after the first event. I think that the 3-4 weeks that was mentioned was referring to cleaning up the dirt/dust that gets thrown/carried to the seats and other areas of the stadium. Again I could be wrong and way off base but I don’t think the track tear down takes long at all, it’s the fine cleaning of the rest of the stadium that’s more difficult/time consuming

Emmett Hahn (the promoter) told us at a Chili Bowl banquet we attended last January that they have to be cleaned up and out of the Expo Center in Tulsa just a few days following The Chili Bowl. They not only have to haul the racetrack dirt out but they have to disassemble the grandstands and power wash all of the ventilation ducting and any of the building framework that will hold dust. This work starts Sunday morning following the final night of The Chili Bowl due to a huge boat show that is always scheduled the weekend after.

It's a safe bet that there is a LOT more work that goes into moving out of the Expo Center than there is moving out of the dome. Don't think an event scheduled for some time in February will be a problem.

If there is never an overlap in schedule this could be a very good thing for the race... because it would guarantee that the Dome doesn't get torn down due to lack of activities or city interest in those activities.

You then have to install a football field. And clean the rest of the facility.
