Off season topic- Tracks

Talked about many of these subjects for awhile, and 1st up is tracks! I understand that many regions of the USA are different, but I'll address some! In some places, we have too many tracks!! Basically identical, just trying to do the same thing! With many classes almost the same, but just enough difference to "lock" them into a certain track! We (all of racing) only have a finite # of cars and fans!! Tracks fight over the same amount! So for Crow & others, can't make this too long!! We could do with (dare I say it) LESS TRACKS! Add, but be civil!!

I dont think less tracks is the answer. I think tracks sticking to the magical 3 hour mark for their shows and doing a better job of working together would be nice. I get blasted on here anytime i say anything about whatever track being more efficient, fact of the matter is no one under twenty with all their teeth is returning to a dirt track if they get sand blasted or the show runs for five hours.

I don’t think it’s a too many tracks problem as it is a lack of diversity in divisions problem. I live in an area that has three headliners, and tracks can run any one of the three as it’s headliner. The track I attend regularly runs all three. Unfortunately, my area is the only area of the country where that is possible. It’s kind of a shame that multiple headline level divisions haven’t taken off in most of country.

I agree on diversity, but again it doesn't exist around me! They all basically run the same cars. Some of my Buds in other parts of the USA have more tracks, but they run different cars. With different fans too, to some degree! We hardly have Mods or Sprints around, but 5 classes that look like the same car!! Don't get me started on time management!! 5 classes look the same and 7 plus overall divisions take toooo much time!! Almost everyone hates an all night program!

I have said it a bunch on here. What racing needs (IMO) is URR "UNIFIED RULES RACING" . There should be a national rules package put together where a Late Model is built on 1 set of rules for all of the United States. The same car that races in massachusetts should be able to pull into a track in fla. or cal or washington state and take the green flag with no changes other than tuning shocks and springs. The same goes for Modifieds - Sprints - DirtStocks -PureStock....
The tracks with the best programs and practices will survive and thrive. .

I agree with the 3-hour idea. I have 2 tracks within an hour. The closest is 30 minutes away, they draw under 40 cars for 4 classes, and take 5 hours to run them. Get more cars, run a more efficient show, stop waiting on drivers to line up for the race, and get it done in 3 hours. The next track is about 50 minutes away, and they have good car counts, but run way too many classes. I think the normal race is 6 classes, but I went one night and they had 7 classes, and another they had 2 touring classes for a total of 9. I left way before the show was over. I guess I am just too old, but others are too young, to enjoy this type of show. For me, I want to leave the house at 6 and be home at 11:00.

How many ppl under 20 are attending races without there parents? Weather they have all there teeth or not. So lame

3 to 4 classes tops and between 3 to 4 hours to run the complete show. If you are bringing young kids with you to the track you don't want to be there until midnight or beyond. 5.00 dollar food and drink package. Sandwich, chips and water 6.00 if you want a soda. Common sense rules and 1 to 2 pages of rules and not 20 that will never be enforced to begin with.

Your poor grammar and inability to comprehend a simple point are whats lame. You go with your parents when you’re young, if its not enjoyable then you dont go back as an adult. You must be a farmer city regular. I can almost hear you saying, “It’s our home track we gotta support it.”

There aren't too many tracks, but there are definitely too many poorly operated tracks.
