DoD stepping up live PPV's in 2019

I went to check out the Wind West Shootout info and noticed they already have a huge list of races they'll be doing live including WoO and SummerNationals. https://www.dirtondirt.com/liveEvents.php

That's awesome! I'll for sure be buying and watching a lot of these that are too far away to get to for me! I just hope the tracks/promoters get a cut!

I see DOD is giving the Slocum 50 and Lucas race at Mansfield free to subscribers. That is cool.

I wonder how they’ll split the crews up on dates when they have multiple broadcasts scheduled. I noticed 6 dates with 2 races scheduled and 1 night with 3 races. But for a guy that lives in an area where there’s not very much good racing around, I love this. I know I’ll be tuning in for quite a few of these

Thats great, why bother going to the track and why bother building cars for the support classes? Now people can stay away from their local tracks and watch them go broke, all to watch a race 1000 miles away. Does that sound familiar. Sounds like Nascrap scheduling a bunch of saurday night races.

I don't think this is nearly a big of a problem as some say it is. Lucas, WoO, and Summernationals were jam packed at every show I attended and watched on PPV. I, along with many others I believe, only watch PPV's when I can't attend due to work obligations anyways or they are simply too far away. In fact, I think that the PPV's actually help tracks due to them getting a cut of the revenues. For example, Volusia's Dirt Car Nationals is jam packed every year for WoO sprints and late models and they still have a large amount of PPV buys that they split with Dirt on Dirt for people that can't go all the way to Florida in February.

It's a partnership deal with Dirtvision. I'm guessing on those nights of conflict, they'll send the DoD crew one way and the DV crew the other.

Why? They announced last year that it would be live in 2019

Why what? I said it's interesting as in that's cool/neat. Do you need any further explanation?

I had the WoO sprint PPV pass this past year and watched another probably 15 PPV's of lates, sprints, midgets during the year. I can honestly say that there was not 1 night I stayed home from a race I would have otherwise attended just to watch a PPV. Still went to lots of shows. PPV is an awesome feature to see things you wouldn't otherwise have seen.

I really think the PPV is geared to the hardcore racing fan (or addict) who wants as much as he can consume. Still doesn't prevent us from going to the track as well. I am not an every week attender as I typically hit the various big shows in the central IL/St Louis area during the season. Probably average attending once every couple weeks during the summer & hit all the biggies. PDC, several Summernationals, Lucas shows, etc.

It's interesting because there aren't any forms of communication in Middlebourne WV yet. I think they still use telegraph and carrier pigeons.
