    Subject to change

Change Lucas Oil Late Models to MLRA. There’s quite a difference.

Well if you want to get technical....
It's the Lucas Oil Midwest Latemodel Racing Association

I'm just happy to see another DLM race scheduled at the joint in '19. Hopefully, they host the Scheffler Memorial again too.

UMP Summernationals at Sycamore the same night. I can count the number of late model specials less than 2 hours from me on one hand. It sucks 2 of them are on the same night

Advertising as lucas oil late models is kind of shady

I absolutely agree. SE WI dirt late model special events are scarce. disappointed.

We'll be going to Sycamore, Great camping area there. Beaver Dam discourages overnight camping.

Riddle me this Batman....how many people do you think are going to show up to this race thinking they were gonna see Bloomer, JD, O'Neal, etc.?

Do you think the "casual" fan is checking out track schedules in December?

Seriously, look at BD's schedule...it's a sprintcar fanbase and that's who ownership caters too. They pack the house for IRA sprints, but if Lucas Oil and WoO DLM were at BD on the same night, the joint would only be 1/2 full and only 9
10% would be regular BD attendees.

You're missing the point zonky... The casual fan has probably caught lucas oil late models on MavTV and that's probably what they would expect given the title. Man what a show that would be IRA, lucas, and woo late models all the same night. It's too bad the place would only be half full.

I was there as well, the night Feger won his first WoO race. Track was awesome, 3 grooves, battles throughout the field.

That said...decent crowd, but the place wasn't packed. First 10-12 rows of bleachers on the front-stretch were empty, a majority of the reserved tables were not sold, pit bleachers on the backstretch were about 2/3 full and there were only a handful of people sitting on the hill in turn 4.

I know the daughter and grandson of one of the track owners quite well. Spoke with him personally a year after that WoO late show...and asked why he didn't have them back after the two great races they hosted in '08 and '09.

He flat out told me it was too expensive to host the LM for a $10k to win show(without an event sponsor) b/c they don't draw enough fans to make it worthwhile.

Was shocked, but grateful, that BD hosted Scheffler event last year....but the track wasn't on the hook for one dime of the LM purse.

                      WisWildmanFan,
I never said anything about sprints being at BD the same night as the LM. What I said was if the Lucas late models and WoO late models were at BD on the same night, the place would be 1/2 full.

Since you brought it up, "if" IRA sprints were there on the same night as the LM, the joint would be standing room only.

IRA Sprints run with DirtKings late models at the Beaver Dam fairgrounds (1/2 mile ) and you can't squeeze another person in there. Like I said before, BD is a sprintcar fanbase/area.

And for the record...I don't believe anyone is watching DLM on MAV TV or cbssports channel other than hardcore fan. If they were, we'd see more "new" fans showing up at dirt tracks.

                      Lastly,
It's unfortunate, the mlra and summernats scheduled against each other, but other than Paul Parker, there's nobody else from WI who would've been at Sycamore anyways. Sycamore will draw 28-32 cars and BD will draw around 24.

I'm just curious as to what they would charge for admission with both late model national tours at the same track on the same night? Might as well make it 3 way battle with the summernationals as well since we are living in fantasy land. I understand it's a sprint car fan base but to say the place would be half full is just a guess. The way they been killing sprint drivers up there maybe they should bring some of the mud taxis in

Essentially no slm guys will run any UMP SN races anyway so Sycamore will not be affected.

I agree they should clarify that it's a MLRA not the Lucas Oil series but these tracks often have publicity people who are not tuned into the sport and may likely not be aware of the differences. They also try to get everything into one line of type. I would bet later releases will be more accurate.

BTW there will not be any more Scheffler Memorials ... The family intended for it to end at ten events. I doubt that Russ's passing will change that. George was a friend... He is really missed by many.

Agree with most but adding 4 letters MLRA to that schedule would of not affected anything.

Congratulations Wildman...it says alot about a man when he finds it appropriate to crack jokes about the death of another man. It screams loudly, "You're an @$$!!"

You want to debate a topic like adults, I'll gladly go point, counter-point, with you or anyone else, to gain insight, maybe find a little common ground, or simply agree to disagree.

You want to make light of the Jason Johnson incident or any other racecar fatality for that matter....you're on your own.

                              Have a nice day.
