in the south there isn't any local racing for supers, so the only races for them is the regional deal and there is enough still around to make it work as long as they are smart about it and don't travel too far,or run over each other too much, most of your regional guys have to work for a living to make the money to race lates, it doesn't make sense to run all over the place and call it a regional series, some of them spead it out to far,

I don't see it happening, but it would be nice if one series had an umbrella over multiple regions.

Host a handful of bigger events with a region vs. region deal and end of the season have a giant event with all the regions together.

      For example...(rough idea)
Comp Cams Southeast (GA, SC, NC, TN, FL)
Comp Cams Midwest (IL, WI, MN, MI, IA)
Comp Cams East (PA, OH, KY, WV)
Comp Cams West (MO, OK, NE, KS)
Maybe a 5th region of MS, LA, AK, TX

Agree something like this would need a better purse structure, but then we as fans had better be willing to shell out more too.

Maybe minimum $7500 to win, and $600 to start?? Easy for me to say though b/c I'm not the track/promoter sticking my neck out.

It's just so doggone expensive to run a super...not sure what can be done to grow the number of teams across the country.

me looking at it, here is what i think, western-middle ky, middle tn, northern al, is one series,-----fl, ga, some of al, one area,-------Arkansa,west tn mississippi,mo one area----- carolinas
, virgina, east tn, one area, but to get all the track owners and promotors on the same page forget it, then you could have 2-3 races a year non points, non mandatory, but a big race for the all series meet, then add all your regional races plus 3 non point races for all of the areas, and let them be able to drop 3 races (if they can't make the big non points races), i broke the areas up like this because i could see 15-20 cars per race, because i think a 4hr give or take, driving to the track window (for the most part ) would work, again just thinking about the guy that works, i don't think 7500 per week race will work though, 3-5 is where it will have to be for the most part, the last time i looked 5000 to win is a 17-18 thousand dollar pay out for 24 cars, most tracks can't handle more than that

in order to get more cars to follow a regional series the purses has to improve. the carolina clash is stepping up with 4 10,000 to win races this year and most others paying 5000 to win

there doing what i described above, just looked at the schedule, yes they have 3 - 10 to win but the rest are 3-5 to win, your not going to get every race a 10 to win (alot of tracks can't handle the pay out), for that the track could get lucas or woo for that (for the most part)

                Agree with DLMfan123
Ultimate already has started doing this and trying to make a foot print in each region
My thoughts like most everyone else. Weekly payouts aren't great so guys decide to track but some can't afford to travel to far other wise tow money isn't worth it to tow that distance.
When shocks started going stupid; the different touring series should have put a nail in it right there on the spot and outlawed certain kinds pronto.
                Here is a thought
                For different regions

1 Northeast / Mid-Atlantic - VT, NH, NY, PA, MD, WV
2 Southeast - VA, NC, SC, GA, FL, Eastern TN, Eastern KY
3 South - AL, MS, LA, AR, Western TN, Western KY
4 Great Lakes / Midwest - MI, OH, IN, IL, WI, IA
5 Mid South / Plains - TX, OK, MO, KS, NE
6 Northern - ND, SD, MN, MT, WY,
7 Southwest / West - CO, UT, NM, AZ
8 West Coast - CA, OR, WA, NV, ID

                Each race minimum $3,000 - $4,000 to win and $500 - $600 to start

The only way you are going to get a good number of cars to follow a tour is good purses, good travel money/incentives, and a good points fund.
I think a respectable points fund is essential to get anyone to travel one tour.

It's still a partially free country and anyone can start a series for any car class....whether they should is another matter.

Here in NE WI we had a good, solid travelling series for the A mods a few years ago. Run by two guys I know very well. After three years or so one had some health issues and pulled out. The other partner did not have the money to carry on so the series died... at least that's how I saw it go down.

Now we have the Dirt Kings SLM deal and it's had some growing pains but continues on. The main thing I see is scheduling those shows on Saturday nights and having the weekly racers chasing points in two places at the same time. I think some changes have been made to avoid most of that this year.

I'd be fine with all the regional series if they had more than a couple of cars follow them and had 30 cars enter. Some of these series are won by the guy that has perfect attendance.

There aren't too many Regional Series around here. There is 1 each from Ar, Ms, and La. Only a handful of races overlap and when they do, the races are 4hrs plus apart. Lets say we were to run CompCams for points. Thats 25 races or so. Having the other 2 series gives us another 25 races between them to choose to race. You get rid of those 2 series and we have to travel a stupid 8 to 10 hour distance to race. I don't agree with you this time Crow..... We like our choices of when and where we want to race.

I understand, but I was coming at it from a fans perspective. If I was part of a team I would totally see it your way.
