The SAS guys like to just qualify and line up for the feature. They aren’t going to places like Eldora, where you have to actually race your way into the show.

Every promoter I’ve ever discussed it with, had good reasons for shutting down their track the week of the World 100.

*Respect for everything the World 100 means to our sport.

*Respect for their local fans and drivers who’d like to attend the World 100.

*The promoter themselves and his or her family and coworkers, make the annual trip to Eldora..

I think most people in the sport understand this, but I also understand why others continue to race — especially tracks that are several hours from Eldora. The further the distance, the less likely it’s an issue. I’m guessing a lot of tracks discuss it with their drivers before making a decision.
