Periodically I have a recurring dream of NASCAR scheduling a Cup race at one of the Illinois 1 mile dirt tracks (Springfield and/or Du Quoin). Every time I have that dream I wake up smiling but it isn't long before I completely regain consciousness realize NASCAR isn't capable of doing something that makes that much sense.
ARCA, and before that USAC, puts on some great racing at both places and have every year since in the early 1960's. It would certainly separate the real drivers from the buy-a-ride boys.Comment

NASCAR has gone from 20" wide bench seating to today's offering where one ticket purchase gets you an entire row! If I was to go to another race, I would act bad and sit at various locations on my row during the course of the race! LOL!Comment
