    Dale McDowell Stays Hot, Scores $10,000 Spring Thaw Victory

    DALE MCDOWELL SCORES "SPRING THAW" ULTIMATE VICTORY AT VOLUNTEER SPEEDWAY WORTH $10,000

    BULLS GAP, TN - The Ultimate Super Late Model Series made their return to "The Gap" Volunteer Speedway located in Bulls Gap, Tennessee on Thursday April 4th for the annual "Spring Thaw" event paying $10,000 to win.

    The 50 lap event was a points race for the Ultimate Southeast and Ultimate Heart of America Regions along with a bonus race for our Ultimate Northeast, Ultimate Mid-Ohio Valley, and Ultimate Deep South Regions.

    23 Ultimate competitors signed into Thursdays "Spring Thaw" event and in a thrilling race; Dale McDowell of Chickamauga, Georgia made the pass on Jimmy Owens to take the lead on lap 32 to score the $10,000 Ultimate Super Late Model Series victory. Jimmy Owens, Brandon Overton, and Shannon Buckingham rounded out the top five finishers.

    The thrilling event saw three different leaders including Michael Chilton (1-13), Jimmy Owens (14-31), and Dale McDowell (32-50). The event was slowed once for a caution on lap 34 when Daulton Wilson had to go pit side due to mechanical issues.

    Dale McDowell set fast time in qualifying with a time of 12.276 seconds to earn the Davis Diesel Service fast qualifier award.

    The Ultimate Super Late Model Series Southeast Region will be back in action again on Saturday April 6th as the Series will travel to Friendship Motor Speedway located in Elkin, North Carolina for a 40 lap event paying $4,000 to win.
