You are 100% correct. You don't see a lot of his bankable assets because you have no idea his personal finances, or portfolio. Say what you will about Scott Bloomquist, but he did not get where he is without foreword thinking and being one step ahead. Generally, that translates off the track as well. Aside from building a brand which will likely carry on in the sport long after he is out of the seat, he is also heavily invested in areas outside racing as well.. including an aviation company. To say he is broke is nothing short of ridiculous, he is a smart man who has built a self sustaining and profitable program. 90% of his racing assets were probably paid for by other peoples money. His souvenir sales are off the chart. Cody is there to guide and grow this brand as he starts to wind down... the accident was probably a real eye opener in terms of putting things in perspective when it comes to the future. Like I said, he is always an innovator, one step ahead and far from an idiot financially. Unlike a lot of people speculating here. I am not even a fan, but I can admit he does everything with profitability at the forefront.

None of us know how much or how little he is worth, and it’s none of our business. My only comment is that wealthy people don’t ask for help from the public when things get rough. There’s not a thing in the world wrong with receiving help when one is not able to work, as Scott is not. Things are obviously not good in Mooresburg these days. This certainly cements the idea that dirt late model racing is a horrendously bad business model.

I highly doubt there’s any legal repercussions, much like CIRF said, unless another racer raised a stink about it, and I don’t really see that happening either.

But on the surface, the promoter having a financial interest in one particular car always smells a little funny. I know this isn’t the first time a situation like this has happened, and I doubt it’s the last. I’m just talking in general I don’t like the idea of a promoter/track owner having a car he owns competing in race their promoting.

Josh doesn't need me to speak up for him, he can handle that just fine by himself. That said, I don't think he means these guys in a similar situation are doing anything illegal or totally unethical. He merely speaks the truth by saying it just doesn't smell quite right when a guy who has a vested interest is on both sides of the fence.

If there is ever a situation where ol' bloomy, or a car that he owns, wins big at a venue that is owned/promoted by his business partner, to be sure, there will by some questions posed, right or wrong, fairly or unfairly.
