You got that right, TUTY! Thievery is a way of life and it seems that the prevailing wisdom is if you don't take all the precautions to thwart the thieves you're at fault, not the thieves. Stealing has become normalized, it seems. We haven't been to Eldora for either of the 2 big late model races since the second genset was stolen. That was in 2006 or 2007. We still go to the 4 Crown Nationals every year but don't take the camper since we only go for the USAC portion on Saturday night.Originally posted by TUTY View PostIt's to bad you have to worry about all this stuff. The one straight west of the ballroom on the west side of Rt. 118.Originally posted by dirt junkie View PostWhich campground were you staying in when this happened?

Here ya' go, Ryan21mid. It appears that since 2013 Stewart allows only honest race fans to attend Eldora. Prolly 'cause it's easy to tell the difference!Originally posted by WisWildManFan View PostBeen to every dream since new format in 2013 I believe it was and a few world 100s. I would want to know if something was stolen recently not from 2007, you’re losing your mental edge you dinosaurOriginally posted by CIRF View PostHere ya' go, Ryan21mid. Oh, I seriously doubt that, but either way it appears not to take much of an intellectual edge to stay ahead of the likes of you. Along those same lines, it's better to have had it and lost it than never to have had it at all. You're a prime example of the latter.
It appears you're intellectually challenged to the degree as to believe in just the last 10 years the world has been cleansed of all thieves that attend races. Just leave your stuff layin' around unsecured, especially at Eldora. Please let us all know how that turns out for ya'! LOL! I doubt the OP is gullible enough to take that advise.

Thanks for the advice everyone, much appreciated! No matter where you go there's a chance of things being stolen, we'll take the proper precautions and hope for the best. There'll be a big group of us celebrating my bachelor party in Lot 5 all weekend. Feel free to stop by and have a beer! I myself have been to Eldora about 5-6 years ago, just wanted to refresh my memory on some of the ins and outs so we can get the best experience. Looking forward to our first Big E Crown Jewel!

While I know neither of us are Tony fans, as an owner/promoter, he has cleaned up Eldora. Way more of a police presence. Way less BS.Originally posted by CIRF View PostHere ya' go, Ryan21mid. By no means am I saying everyone is swearing on a stack of bibles and honest Abe’s, but it is noticeably better.Up in the air who my next “favorite†driver is. Really losing hope on Bloomer getting anywhere back to “normalâ€.

Tent camped on the farthest corner of lot 5 during the world last year. Was almost never at the site but everything was fine all weekend.

Me and my dad been to every world since 90, and never missed a dream race. We've never had anything stolen.
The party life is dead, and has been for about the last 10 years. There's hardly anyone left walking around the campgrounds about an hour after the races are over. The law makes sure the place is on lockdown.

That's great to hear as I was worried we were going to regret this trip in June. We will still take precautions but you've eased my mind a bit.Originally posted by zyoung25 View PostMe and my dad been to every world since 90, and never missed a dream race. We've never had anything stolen.

This will be our 24th year of attending the world & have only missed 1 Dream & 1 Prelude. Although we don’t camp- we have many friends who do -and we have never had a problem what so ever ! It’s like all other news: the bad gets highlighted while the good goes un-talked about !
Awesome place to attend & enjoy !! 🏁🏁🏁

You'll be fine. Most folks go there and enjoy them selves. The racing is decent. The party atmosphere in the camping areas is ok. Not like it used to be though (I think you get my point with out having to say it). It's been cleaned up a bit. Food is good and very cheep, Beer is cheep $2.00 & Full bar behind main grandstands just off turn 4 on front strait. Souvenir prices are good. Watch some of hot laps and qualifying from the infield if you get a chance; watching them at the end of pit road coming down the front straightaway and into turns 1 & 2. It's fun to see the drivers come barreling into the corners especially if there is the slightest of a rut going into the turns.Originally posted by Ryan21mid View PostThanks for the advice everyone, much appreciated!
