I don’t think it has anything to do with being scared. It’s a small, tight, fifth mile. I think a lot of guys don’t like a track that small and don’t wanna risk tearing stuff up. And it just doesn’t fit them.

I think it’s a neat place, and like seeing races from there. But what scares them guys if anything is tons of speed. Like the old Syracuse, WVMS, Belleville. I mean heck, most love Eldora and Knoxville.

Not surprising that a guy like Chris Simpson would avoid Macon. Not running for Lucas points so there isn't extra incentive to show up there. Also, it is a unique animal & has a strong likelihood of ending up with damage during the race.
