I can agree on those fans numbers no tracks down here have those kind o numbers to pull in to make any money with one of those shows. Also, I think that we have too long of a racing season in the south we practically race year-round down here so we burn fans out on racing.

Your example of 2,250 fans and $7,500 taken in for concessions equates to less than $3.50 per fan. The last time I spent less than $5 at the concession stand was ... never. I agree with your overall point, but that concession figure is way off.

I can agree with those numbers especially here in the south. We do not have the crowds at the tacks they have up north as you see why that 75% of the national tours race their races up north. Too much of a chance with tracks in the south too much to do during the weekend, racing in the south is not a top priority as it is up north to the fans.

I’m curious as to what your dividing point is for north and south, and what you mean by too much to do during the weekend in the south?

Except I’d bet 1/3 to 1/2 don’t spend a dime at the concession stand. Especially at tracks that allow coolers. I can’t remember the last time I spent more than 5-7 bucks at a track stand.

My purse for three classes is probably 1200-1500 low.

Terry, I consider Virginia the dividing line! I think we Americans in general, have a ton of options regardless of area of the USA! Maybe better weather in the South, in general, leads to more options! We would like to see more National races in the middle of the year around here, selfishly! We seem to get them early & later in the year! But if the $75k+ figure is correct now, so few tracks can stomach that! Also Crow & others, come join us @ Dega this weekend!! We do have extra tickets for the superspeedway, if you want to see that too!!
