Stocks run 19 & 20s at Eldora. Fast time last night was 15.582, Hummer went 17.5, now take into acct Hummer vs Lanigan & Hawkins with setup+ driver and I'd think easy ½ second off hummer time attainable. This would be say high v16.8-17 flat for 525. Could maybe squeek 16.5 but I'd think that's extreme best from crate 525

Run them all together and adjust to a weight/cubic inch rule.

Start the fast guys, and last week's feature winner, at the tail.

While we're at it start paying four spots in the heats so most guys have a shot at making SOME money.

Personally I'd do group qualifying and pay five spots there, too.

And buy a water truck that starts every week.

I agree with Jim every track I run I'm about a second to second half slower then big guys no matter what we try. At Eldora was losing traction will work on that today try to gain some speed but several times yesterday was on the chip at 7400

I feel part of why the 525 hasn't taken off is that it's almost an "in-between" motor. Meaning that it's weight is of what a good super late model motor is, but with the power of a limited late model motor... especially if you are wanting to run it against the Lucas or WoO guys. Regionally it's a decent choice as long as the racer picks and chooses the right tracks to run it at. Some guys have seen some success with them here in the southeast already.

Im not really sure what the answer is as crates were supposed to save car counts and that did not happen....

I still say if you take traction and downforce away you dont need these 900hp engines that cost so much. Make the front nose straight across too. Remember the days when they used to not have 15 inches of clearance? Thats where I would start.

Even down here in the deep South, where there are very few supers, the 525's have taken off. The steelblocks have gotten to the $20-25k for a decent one, so most are buying the 525s and having good success!

He isn’t saying make another class. He’s saying make them competitive with super lates.

How is he going to bring down the cost of a roller? WoO, Lucas, etc going to change their rules, is Longhorn, BD, 29, BW, SB, going to change their pricing? It’s a start, baby steps.

What if you took a new car added no weight to it put a crate motor in it would it be as fast as a super?

Lol. Yep. He went and hired a NASCAR engineer to design his chassis to make it competitive instead of fish habitat. (Longhorn)

police it correctly, or don't do it, if not policed it will get out of hand very quickly, the only way to do it is tear them down, the day crates started it was out of hand ( and I'm not just guessing, it was out of hand from day one), then if you buy one and hurt it, you can just fix it yourself, no bolts needed

cubic inch rule will fix alot of issues and easy to police, but there are alot of big inch engines that would be useless if that were done, but i think thats the answer, 400-410 inch rule, they will still make 800-850 but a ton cheaper than the wide bores, then a local race guy could build there own stuff and compete again, with the new l/s stuff i would think it could be done ALOT cheaper, and get rid of the dry sump, but let them run big coolers for the extra oil, no wide bores
