I wouldn't put a lot of stock in her comments about this at all. I don't trust her as far as i could toss her. You guys know the track is also being sued by a racer who got badly burned because the safety crew didn't know how to operate the fire extinguishers? I stopped racing there because I've never felt less safe at any race track on the planet.

Yeah, she's the one that caused the big ruckus at the Lucas race. She announced that refunds would be mailed for the rainout and a group of about 100 demanded to get their refund back in cash right then. It got to the point that they called in add'l po po and finally relented to giving our cash back!

ZERO, does this woman have a racing background? Reason I ask is there have been a couple of dust up's with USAC over the years that they've been racing there in February. One particular time Tim Clauson (Bryan's dad and a long time USAC car owner) got into a brouhaha over track conditions several years ago. I've spent a little time with Tim over the years and he's not an unreasonable guy. BRP management made a huge deal about it and Clem himself vowed never to have USAC back. The next year USAC was back and all was forgiven and forgotten. I was there that night and Tim, and some others involved, had a legitimate beef with the condition of the track which went unheeded 'till a threat to not race was made to the track officials.

I don't really blame her specifically for my experience with the safety of the place, it's been like that long before she got there. I have no idea what her credentials in racing are. She runs some sort of insurance pyramid scheme along with 2 small racing series too, but according to the Florida dept of state they're all inactive even though they're still "active"so i dunno. I don't think she's probably a bad person, she's just likely being fed a whole bunch of garbage from the people who are actually about to lose the track. But the good news is the track itself is a gem, and i absolutely cannot see it falling idle if there is an opportunity for someone else to step in and get it.

I really hope you're right! As I've said in some earlier threads on this subject, we're totally set up in regards to lodging and transportation for next years' Speedweeks activities at Volusia and BRP. You're totally correct in saying that the place is a gem. I've seen the late models there a couple of times and they have always put on a very good show. But the USAC divisions seem to be tailor made for the place and seldom do they disappoint.
