    Gaerte engines being liquidated

One of the most famous of engine shops is being liquidated

Sez Joe Gaerte started the biz in 1696.... that's a long time.

"Gaerte Racing Engines was founded in 1696 by Joe Gaerte out of a two-car garage behind his home. He started by building engines and selling parts to local racers and speed shops. The company later grew to a race-winning entity, creating winning motors for names such as Jeff Gordon, Ken Schrader, Ryan Newman, Tony Stewart, Steve Kinser and Sammy Swindell."

When they started in 1696 they were WAY ahead of their time. The automobile wouldn't even be invented for another 2 centuries!

At one time, in it's heyday, Gaerte Engines built close to 300 new sprint car and dirt late model engines a year

This is probably not the first and won't be the last company to close. Engine builders, chassis builders and any other part builder in racing are pricing themselfs out of business. It seems like they would notice that car counts have dropped.and tracks are closing.

Tyler Redd!ck ran them as well. Gaerte had one of the most distinct logos in the biz.

Epj ran a 362 from Gaerte in his first couple years in supers. It ran great and never missed a beat!
