I cant believe it. Track could have been worked in an hour. They saw it sprinkled for two hours and still no urgency to get the feature in. Bullshat!!!

I made the 3 hour and 20 minute drive (1 way) to Sycamore. The track itself was fine and there were some good races in the heats. That’s the extent of the positives from me. I will never return to Sycamore Speedway.

Poor communication - very little info was posted about start times and prices for the event until the day of, and when it was posted, it was contradictory or inaccurate. I saw at least 3 different start times posted on their website or social media. The admission price posted by the Summer Nationals yesterday was $35. When I got to the track, it was $30. I wasn’t bothered by the lower price, but I hope the incorrect price that was posted did not keep anyone from attending. I know it made me reconsider before I left.

Sound system was awful - I sat right in front of a speaker just a few aisles away from the flag stand and couldn’t hear much of anything, even when there were no cars on track.

The bleachers had large metal supports with sharp edges sticking out from under the wooden bleacher boards. Good way for a child or even an adult to get gouged as they move from their seat to an aisle.

Concessions were poor. Nothing more than what you can get at a tee ball game. No burgers, chicken, pizza, etc. What they did have was relatively reasonably priced, but you got what you paid for. Not the worst food I’ve had at a racetrack, but the worst selection for sure.

Poor time management - some of this falls on the Summer Nationals crew. Tons of time wasted during qualifying by not bringing all of the late models in a group out to the infield and then sending them out as soon as the cars ahead of them exit. Instead, time was wasted waiting for cars to enter the lineup chute and come on the track. Several times during racing, extra laps were wasted just to give the cars a “1 to go” signal. In the modified heat with Kissinger and Hoffman, they paced around for nearly 15 laps under caution during the cleanup instead of just red flagging the race. Wasted their fuel when they knew it would be a lengthy cleanup. No urgency during that cleanup even though they knew rain was coming.

Finally, the complete lack of effort to get the show in once the larger rainfall hit and moved through. Just showed me they got the money and had no intention of finishing the show.

Sorry to be negative, but I was disappointed with a place I had heard a lot of good things about.
