while blackie is banned, i'll take a shot...

up until the rain out (and it was way more than 4 minutes and a mist), there was some pretty good racing. brutally dusty but wind was at our back. looked to be low side only until a few racers made the top work. three touring/regional series, only one local class. car count and talent top notch.

jmo: without that bitch mother nature's interference everyone would have went home a happy customer last night.

last call: and I've been going to races where and whenever possible for over 40 years: never judge a track on one night. only place I have been that hasn't had an off night was Knoxville. and the majority of those disappointments have been weather related. if not, I don't go back.

I will be returning to sycamore.

FWIW, the MLRA feature at Dubuque just ended at 8:23 with rain approaching. I couldn't find any info on how many cars/classes were running.

I've seen a couple of of Summernantionals shows that ended before 9:00 because of rain...34 Raceway and Tri-State. It is entirely possible to do that if they wanted.

...keep in mind...and this is what most fans dont realize...the track is designed for water run off...it could pour and pour...and in an hour or 2 its race time...the problem is the pits...they are not designed for water run off...they become a sloppy mess...

Dubuque ran 5 classes but the car counts were low. 18 MLRA lates, 7 sport mods, 9 IMCA mods, 3 stock cars and 13 airs series cars. Started raining shortly after the late model feature. Got everything in except for the IMCA mods and I believe they got 1 lap in.
