The days when Birky and Mars dominated this race was great. Bloomquist had some really great runs as well. The common denominator is Lanigan. In the last 10 years, how many of these have Lanigan let slip away in the last 10 laps and end up 2nd? The Firecracker is one of the best races all year bar none. Any time a track gets black from top to bottom is a good night.

to be fair only some race tracks are good when they get black top to bottom. Lernerville, Eldora, I80, Knoxville, Port Royal. Some tracks flat out blow when they get dry like Hagerstown for example.

Hagerstown hasn't had a black top forever. Of course Hagerstown hasn't seen new clay since Richard Nixon was president.

The best races with the exception of FALS 2015 are when the track is black from wall to wall. I havent seen a good north south since they re-done florence. But personally I dont like the tracks that have the narrow brown streak at the fence and you cant pass unless you throw a slider.

I think they have had some great North South 100s there since there re-done the track there. (Race of the year type races) IMO...

Totally agree - not sure what track King was at..... The TMAC, Bloomer and Pierce N/S was pure gold.
