    Big or Local...

Ever noticed when a business down sizes to make more profit, it always cuts the fat, or in racing, the Supers get cut because they have the more costly purse. The SUPPORT CLASS is when you pay out $100 to the winner and $10 to the losers, but have their family support the track. Example a couple weeks ago, a mini stock winner had 12 people from the pits and 20 or more from the stands. That is about $560 in tickets plus food sales, what a big profit. If the track runs Supers, that is advertisement cost (if not lazy and let the series do it for them) and a large purse that a track promoter does not want to deal with, why take the risk on a rainy night? Be a local track and make money off of the locals. But look at the Mag, they rarely run now days (cutting large payouts to the top winners) and they don't run small cars, that place just sits there empty a lot. Look at Thunderhill, a small track with no Supers. When the $10k Spring Nationals showed up, people had to park across the road, but did they make money after paying the purse? Promoters are making money but why all of the cutting back on Supers and larger purses. What large purses? The same amount as years ago! Drivers and fans are getting ripped off by these one season promoters.
