Is Bob Pierce still building and selling late model Pierce cars or is he mainly a Rocket chassis dealer now?

He is still building and selling late models, last I knew. The plan was for him to sell the XR1’s as more of a Cadillac, and the Pierce cars would be more of your Civic/Cruze etc. Wanted to give people options. Now, is he still selling them, I dunno. Haven’t heard of anyone with one. When he switched to XR1’s, that was the plan.Originally posted by BILL47A View PostIs Bob Pierce still building and selling late model Pierce cars or is he mainly a Rocket chassis dealer now?Up in the air who my next “favorite†driver is. He asked if he’s still building them, you answered who is still winning in them. From your astute use of Google, we know people have won this year in a Pierce car. Not if he’s still building new Pierce Cars. No price list on his site, few dealers. I’d be surprised if DB is still a Pierce dealer.Up in the air who my next “favorite†driver is. In my opinion, Bob kind of put himself in a strange position when he become a Rocket dealer and Bobby runs an XR1 vs a Pierce Platinum chassis. I am sure there is a need from a business point of view for repairs and/or updates and parts for the Pierce cars already in existence, but it is hard to have teams pay good money for a new chassis that the builder and his team don't currently run himself. Bob would be better off in focusing on only building modifieds under the Pierce Platinum banner and selling XR1 late models. The shop would still be busy servicing both. Just my two cents.

I believe that is the way Bob himself said it. When they originally announced the rocket deal. He said that he felt they were falling behind on the late model stuff and wanted to concentrate on getting his modified chassis running better. He said he was still gonna build and service cars for customers that already had our wanted them but not really change the existing design. Kinda picking his battles so to speak. Theirs only so much time in the day and only so much man power. As long as he doesnt release a platinumR and burn a bridge i think it was a very good business move. Keeps his feet planted solid in both worlds without spreading himself thinOriginally posted by Barbecueboy View PostWell said .......

was told Bob trying to get the mods going once more they a lot easier to sale and make him more money. Think its a smart move by bob if true.

i know for a fact he had to sign a non-compete and non-disclosure agreement to become a rocket dealer. now whether or not mark lets him still design cars for bobby is unclear, but new platinums are not supposed to be built based on the signed contract with rocket. and fwiw, i think that's a smart move on rocket's part to protect themselves, but when you get to where there are less people selling an item in a market because of things like signed contracts, etc, then prices can just be driven up higher and higher and there won't be anything that can be done. with everyone whining about the cost of racing, don't forget there are PLENTY of agreements already out there between sellers and "buyers" like rocket has and we all see the effects when we go to buy something.
