Don’t forget the fireworks show on Friday night is second to none. My 2 Grandkids love them and that’s sold tickets down the road.

Always a nice addition to see some of the Lucas Oil guys there too, but that is not the best thing imho.
Agreed. Your assessment is spot on.

Driver list aside, put the car count # just slightly south or north of 50.

              I'll say 47.

That car count is a shame for 50K to win...and that's WITH Fans Fund.
                  CL deserves better.

I-80 only had around 50 as well. There are enough $3-5,000 races every weekend close to home for drivers to hit rather than drive further for crown jewels.

Cedar Lake is so far off the beaten path it’s tough to get 65-70 cars. I would have thought I80 with being more centrally located would have 60 or more cars. It’s the way of racing today and we are just living in it. Cedar Lake is paying $3000 To Start this year also but I don’t know if that will help?

The deal with I-80 is that there are no cars west of the track capable of running with the Lucas boys besides Kyle Berck. It’s all limiteds/crates out that way.

When it was co sanctioned with mlra. That race was knocking on the door of 60 cars. Now, I’m just hoping for 50-55. I’m plenty happy with that when comparing it to other big races.

For sure. You know the limitations for the SDN and I know for the USA Nationals. I accept that anything over 50 cars is a good car count for next weekend.

Our group missed going to the SDN this year after the awesome time we had last year. Hope to get back down there after we hit a couple more new racetracks on the bucket list.

TUTY hit the nail on the head, with its being $3k to start this year I thought it would get more cars.

The biggest difference between the PDC/Florence and Cedar Lake in car count is primarily local cars. Florence and Fairbury will each have 15-25 local cars if you look at their lists. Cedar Lake will have probably 25-30 local/regional Late Models at the track that weekend but maybe 5 or 6 of them will run the big show. Most of them run the big show and you have your 60-70 cars. I don't think 3k to start will change anything with local participation (may help with travelers a little though).

It would probably take something like what I-80 is doing next year where it's $1400 in the LCQ's to get them to run since most know they have a small chance of making the show and have to get different tires to run, etc. Or you look at what we did at my home track Hibbing when we hosted the the WoO a few years back....Arnie Ranta paid the entry for all the local guys and they let them run their own tires. We had 34 cars . Almost every local guy gave it a shot.

I’m pretty sure that he did the same thing in Ashland this year for the WOO show. Arnie Ranta has done a lot of stuff for the Wissota guys. He has helped out a lot of drivers financially.
