CL is hurt by the fact that there is a very limited number of open motor DLM cars in WI, MN, and Iowa, and no track in WI runs an "open" tire rule for DLM. They all run the bricks.

Bottom line...car counts are down for big events across the country. The days of 80 cars at the USA Nats, N/S and other jewels, and 200 cars at the World, are over.

The PDC saw an increase in the car count when the date was changed to sandwich it between I-80 and CL, the purse was increased, and the fact that Illinois has a huge "open" DLM presence due to all the UMP sanctioned tracks. Not a gripe or complaint...I say kudos to Fairbury!! Great track, great racing, great crowd. They do it right.

TUTY hit the nail on the head, with its being $3k to start this year I thought it would get more cars.

I'll gladly take an event with 45 cars, where all but a couple have a legitimate shot to make the show, then 80 cars where 1/2 the field is in over their skis.

Not sure how they’ll break down the purse for the dash but it’s usually split pretty evenly from top to bottom which means any driver in the FANSFund that makes the show is getting close to or over 5k just to start to feature.

Glad to hear that. In the Rumley car I assume? Looks like many of the former champions will be in attendance and the weather looks great all week.

I know this was in another thread but i think I figured out why the USA Nationals are a separate PPV from the Fastpass. I’m thinking the DoD coverage will be more extensive with more cameras, etc. where the one this past weekend was more of a standard production with the exception of Jarrett being a 3rd reporter. I know in the past they’ve mentioned that some events like the World, they roll out a bigger production.
