Wow 2 years in a row they have had this scheduled and then pulled the plug. I'm going to Bristol but wasn't planning on gap.. Glad they didn't burn me again

Sorry about that- I didn't realize it was cancelled. Apparently the new owner is following the Lovens (previous owner) belief that Volunteer can't support a 10k race without the Bristol fans. I was at this tracks very first race and hundreds since. I have seen standing room only crowds with fans parking all the way to I-81- but this track has slowly died due to bad management & age/health issues of the previous owner. Many people were interested in buying the track but Joe wouldn't sale. Sadly- it has been on a downhill slide for several years. Hoping it will again be back, but I have my doubts. The new ownership/old ownership thing smells a little fishy to me.would be curious if there were any new deeds recorded with the perceived track sale ??

No idea really. The new folks are working with Food City so that is probably part of the reason. Food City Night is that Thursday as well. We did very well with the last Thursday show against Bristol truck race. Hopefully we can get some things going for 2020.
