Did you read the entirety of what I said? Or just the names I listed?

Clearly, you and a few others DID NOT.

I specifically stated from 2014 - present day. (Last 5 years)

Clearly, any two-bit moron, when judging Scrub and the Ky Colonel over their entire careers, would NOT judge them to be over-rated.

However, when looking at the last 5 years, they're both on my list for what they did on the track (or didn't do) compared to the $$ their car owners spent. This isn't about hatred or dislike for a driver. That's ridiculous!!! I have absolutely zero gripes or anymosity towards either guy.

Francis hadn't won a big race since '12, went winless his last three seasons on the Lucas tour, and finished 11th in Lucas points. Sadly, the end of his Lucas run, was like watching Chubb and Clint Smith at the end of their WoO runs. You'll be hard-pressed to convince myself, or anyone else who fairly applies the eye-test otherwise.

Eckert, at least won 5 events with WoO from '14-'18, (went winless in '14) including the Firecracker in '15, but given the funding behind him, the expectations were, and should have been higher. Crowl didn't sell out after '18 b/c of all the "winning" Eckert was doing. And, let's not forget Eckert's short stint in the house car...disaster.

You and everyone else can feel free to disagree all you want, but I based my opinion on facts, not emotions.

Larson is an entirely different deal.
How he lucked into that Drydene sponsor is beyond me. As is why Arnie chose to fund him over Squirrel. All that $$ behind the guy and no notable results to back it up. That puts him in the over-rated, over-valued, or lucky b@$tard category, however you want to label it.

I may catch backlash for this post but I blame a lot of this overrated driver conversation on DirtonDirt. They tend to hype up their select few drivers that they want to regardless of their results. Don’t get me wrong I like DirtonDirt but they need to expand their coverage to more than just the same 10-12 drivers week in and week out.

Flathead, you are right on the money! The reason late model dirt racing has had its appeal, its because fans love the under dog, they love the to see the locals take it to the big names. Unfortunatly the money has changed the sport and that is rarely the case.

Flathead exactly before reading your post I was just about to say, overrated compared to what? DoD? Who's overrating these drivers? Like Zonks said and in how many years? I'd say Josh Richards lately ya he won the Lucas title a few years back but I know he'd rather win Crown Jewels. How much winning has he done in the last 3 years compared to running the Blue #1? Just goes to show you that car makes careers...

He has the nicest of nice stuff in the pits yet if EVERYONE is being honest with theirselves, not 1 person besides his buddies will EVER pick him to win if there are ANY other choices at that track.... he!!, I think Bronson has more touring series wins that Ferguson.... that should speak volumes!!
Only his buddies pick him to win? That's not exactly accurate but it's your opinion.

Bronson should have more touring series wins, he runs the series , unless you're talking about adding in the regional touring series wins too.......then those numbers collectively are in Chris's favor by a bunch.

It's apples and oranges if you are making that comparison.

I like those guys because they are regional Carolina guys that have made a few big splashes on the national scene......and they all have jobs other than racing.

Most if not all of the drivers you're trying to compare them to " racing the car is their job".

And that would be a stretch. If it was mutual, DB wouldn't have offered him to return. Again, You just have to take the jab, even if you are wrong.

He's gotten miles better and as witnessed he is certainly good enough to win in good equipment....but the buzz that surrounds him sometimes just doesn't warrant IMO.

Bloomquist cant win in a car that isn't working well. I'd say his talent was masked by what he had compared to who he was racing. He struggled in the early Woo years, but never before that.

Carefully crafted Press releases versus what really happens behind the scenes don't always get reported on.....the truth isn't a jab dummy, unless denial is in the room.

If you won a few "Crown Jewels" with a major competitive advantage, good for you. That doesn't make you a top tier driver.
