    Thoughts so Far This Season

What are your thoughts on the season so far? Who has surprised you the most this year? Who has been a disappointment this year?

My thoughts are the not to shabby of a season so far. It seems like almost every race has had been pretty good this year. I knew Sheppard would be strong because that team is hard to beat no matter where they are. I have a couple of surprise drivers this year and they are Tyler Erb I knew he was pretty good but to watch him go to a new team and go to speedweeks and do what he did I was surprised by that and I was also impressed with how he has handled himself this year. The other surprise is how well Chase Junghans has ran this year. The disappointment for me is Scott not being able to compete at his highest level due to injury.

It looks like Pierce / Sheppard may be the second coming of Moyer / Bloomquist of the 80’s and 90’s

Brandon Sheppard just sits back and listens to all the talk and he just keeps adding to the win column. Before his career ends he may just go down as one of the best ever. I think that is a given. Do you realize how many yrs he has left ? Will his win totals ever reach some of the greats of yesterday ? I doubt it. Those guys ran more consecutive nights than they do today. $$$ totals, he has them covered hands down.

Pierce and BShepp have A LOT of work to do before there even close to Moyer and Bloomquist from back in the 90s. But hears to hoping, it would be great for dirt car racing.

Bshep is the best young driver in the sport, couple that with his great work ethic and even better attitude and he's tops in his field.......when he wins, he's gracious......when he loses ( like last night) he is equally as gracious and when he screws up( which isn't often) he mans up and makes no excuses.......very refreshing.
Where is the move over flag when you need it?????

              My thoughts?

I’ve been to one race so far this season. Had plans to go to two others, but both rained out. Almost assuredly won’t get to another one until Labor Day weekend. Life dictates I can only get to a certain amount of races each year, and rain has really screwed that up.

Yes the rain has sucked this year. I am almost shocked at how many rain outs there have been this year.

Biggest positive is how well Erb & Best #1 gelled and look good. Disappointment was Eckert not running WoO. Makes WoO even weaker! Thought he would have a solid season, maybe better!

Same here. 2 planned trips to VMS, the Port Royal Lucas race, a couple nights we planned to go to Potomac, and 1 each at Hagerstown, Lincoln, and BAPS were wiped out from rain or the heat. Did manage to get to the Hagerstown Lucas race and 4 or 5 Potomac shows. Been trying to get to some tracks I havent been to yet but the weather hasn't been cooperative so far.

Honestly, I believe Pierce is at least a notch above in talent alone. Hate to say it here.
