The Pierce/Sheppard battles and who's "the best" will go on for many years to come. Kind of like the battles of Bloomquist/Moyer we have all watched over the years. A guy named Purvis could have, should have, and would have been the best of all time (as some would say). I was lucky enough to get to see him race. We will never know how good he could have been. Who's the goat?? The debate between Moyer and Bloomquist is strong. My vote is for Bloomquist, however, you can not dispute the argument for the lower key Moyer. Will either one of their accomplishments ever be surpassed? If it can be done, there is a good chance Pierce or Sheppard can do it. Even though they had it pretty good, I don't think Bloomquist or Moyer had the opportunities these two young man have. One thing for sure, If you were lucky enough to get to watch Bloomquist and Moyer battle it out over the years, You're going to be even luckier to watch the battles of Pierce and Sheppard in the years to come. Lucky us.!
