Hoosierdirtfan, I don`t believe James Rice has a late model any longer. I hope to see Josh there. He has been running good in his since he got it

I knew one of the 2 Rice brothers had bought one over the summer but couldn't remember which.

Also why not send entries out in the mail to all UMP Drivers and Lucas and WOO Drivers as well as ALMS guys might get back to 150 cars.

          Car count last 10 years:
          2009- 172
          2010- 134
          2011- 112
          2012- 123
          2013- 113
          2014- 120
          2015- 106
          2016- 108
          2017- 106
          2018- 104
          2019- ???

120 would give them an even 20 cars in each of the 6 heat races Saturday.
That used to be the cutoff back in the day before points system started.

That would be awesome to see 20 car heat races, even if they get 120 or more, 30 to 40 will go somewhere else on Saturday where they have a real chance of making some money.
How about a non qualifiers race paying 10,000 to win, and entry is based on highest finishing non feature drivers. Who cares if thats more than 5th or so on back, make it interesting and fun, and Lord know Eldora can afford it.

I don't know what tow money is there; but I'd bet if the tow money and the back of the purse where boosted it would help the car count to some extent.

Here is a though get rid of the points format and go by drivers who made one of the twin features finishing position <> if two drivers have same finish position <> tie breaker is best qualifying lap of Thursday or Friday. Drivers that didn't make one of the two features either Thursday or Friday their fastest qualifying time each night is used to set up the back of the Saturday heat races.

104 last year? Maybe 104 different drivers took part, or maybe entered?
There were 101 on premises in Sept and 2 didnt pass safety tech and 99 took part.
The make up in Oct there were only 70 some or something. (Several less than Sept)

What a terrible thing to say... and I worry that you are exactly right. Model isnt sustainable and no one is doing anything.

These are official counts directly from Eldora Speedway and DOD.
Yes, many drivers didn't return. The official count doesn't take away the ones who chose to not come back.
I have no stake in the numbers. Just sharing the info.

                          Not a problem.
I know some people like to see stats like car counts.

The car count dropped with the rise of crate late models. Plus it seems like it basically paralleled the growth of that division. There's just not as many Supers anymore. I say they'll get 105 or so. Next year I think it's gonna be near 200 due to the historic nature of the 50th race. I hope everyone has a great time at the World, I wanna go. It's a little bit too far though.

                              Guerilla Racing Junkies.

Shovel on a little more coal, then when we cross white oak mountain, watch 97 roll!

The problem is the gall dang motors.
