He's the best interviewer in my opinion as well. Always very humbled when he speaks.

Would like to see him get a good ride some day and see what he can do.
That is my opinion too. I have become a fan.

The obvious answer right now is .....Chris Madden! He shows up with his suit and helmet and parks it in victory lane!

Not really relevant since he passed away last year, but Johnny Wheeler was by far the most underfunded driver that did very well with practically nothing! Used wore out tires, old ragged out Dale Meers motor that wasnt fit to put in a bomber, always had an old chassis that was pieced together (up until his car owner got a new Swartz a few years before his death). He and his car owner won quite a few races and had some good showings on several occasions. He was a wheel man that could get the most out of what he had. If he would’ve had a 1/4 of the equipment these guys in the tri-state area had (combs, Wells, Marlar’s, Rattliff, Jameson, etc) He would’ve took there lunch money about every time he showed up at the track. Always drove clean and never quit! RIP Wheelman. Side note Michael Chilton has always impressed me over the years, he has better equipment than some around the area nowadays. But he can show up to a track like elders and others and make the shows. Not an easy task to do these days.

No doubt in the north east it has to be David { Slowride } Scott. He has beaten the odds on favorite driver with the hottest set up ( Max Blair } about 5 out the last 6 times they have saddled up together ! I just read on here lately that he is the only one winning regularly in a Rayburn and from what I've been told the car is at least 4 or 5 years old with a well aged engine. I remember a while back that an average sprint car team ask him to run their sprint car and the next thing ya know he is winning championships at Lernerville ! Mind you, Scott had never sat in a sprint car before that. After one of his last azz kicking runs an old veteran in the sport said " If he beats everyone in a fairly half azzed car, just think what he could do in a good car " !

Good choice, Scott has had some great runs in that Suppa Racing Rayburn. Looked real good this past weekend. They prove that understanding what you have is more important than having the latest and greatest of everything.
