Who was the ?Mitchell? guy who ran the entire Lucas Oil series with a very low budget

This was several years ago. I was wondering if he still races and how much he actually spent and made running with the tour that year.

I was thinking his last name was Mitchell but I'm not sure.

His name was Roy Mitchell. He still races local here in NW Indiana, but not in a LM that I'm aware of. I think he run an I-Mod.

Funny thing is jim croce sang a song called rapid roy that stock car boy.

It looks like in 2007 he finished 13th in points and made 16 races (most/all using provisionals) Most start money was $600- $900

We here in Northwest Indiana called him Rapid Roy Mitchell. He used to work for former late model racer turned Monster Truck racer and 1985 Brownstown, IN track Champion #20th Paul Schafer. Roy was a good dude. 2 /12 years since he passed. His ex-wife Jeanie raced as well.
