If the race had a different name, I don't think people would care as much about the hype for it. And it should have a different name.

Yes, if you took the time to research. A casual fan saw a "million dollar race" on the Lucas schedule and thought it was the second coming of Earl Baltes's show.Originally posted by Mason87 View PostI had no confusion at all, all it takes is knowing how to read and comprehend what was read.Modern Day Spec Wedge Racing

A casual fan probably would have never heard of Earl's Million or remembered it. Would that same casual fan see the Dirt Track World Championship on the schedule and expect to see several different countries represented there?Originally posted by MasterSbilt_Racer View PostYes, if you took the time to research. Maybe a 15 year old casual fan. Never heard of the biggest deal in the history of dirt late model races? Give me a break. You cant take yourself seriously. I ran across more than one person who was confused.Originally posted by GEAR_HEAD View PostA casual fan probably would have never heard of Earl's Million or remembered it. So what? The guy took a shot at it it didn't reach a million still had a huge turn out and besides it not being a million to win had a better payout down the line for the other guys. It not reaching a million didn't hurt my experience at all, but of course people whine and moan and knit pick (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) to death.

Very possible that nobody is going to be able to argue about the "Dirt Million" one way or the other come this time next year.
